For Our Patients

Alliance Orthopedic Labs is located in Annapolis, Maryland and serves the greater Annapolis/Washington/Baltimore area. Our staff also sees patients at schools, physical therapy offices and rehabilitation centers.

Making An Appointment

If your physician or physical therapist recommends an orthosis, come in for a free evaluation to share your story and learn how we can help you. If your healthcare provider does not prescribe a specific device, we will work with them to determine how to best meet your needs.

When you call us to make an appointment, we will ask for your insurance information, prescription and other information. After verifying your insurance, we will call you to schedule an appointment and inform you of your insurance coverage.

Because of the specialized nature of our services, many other major insurance companies will honor our services. Please contact our office if you do not see your insurance provider on the list.

Prior to your appointment, please deliver or FAX your prescription and, if your insurance requires it, a referral to us. Our FAX number is: 410-648-4009.

Your First Appointment

Please bring the following items to your first appointment:

  • prescription
  • referral (if required)
  • insurance card
  • any applicable x-rays and medical reports

After you meet with your orthotist or prosthetist, our insurance specialist will generate a quote for your service and/or device. You may be required to pay for all or a portion of your order at this time. The balance will be due upon delivery.

Your insurance provider may require pre-authorization in order for your device to be covered. Fabrication of your device will begin upon receipt of the authorization. While we do everything we can to expedite this process, please be aware that obtaining an authorization can take from a few days to a few weeks.

Fitting or Fitting & Delivery

When your order is ready for a fitting or delivery, we will contact you to schedule an appointment. Depending on the patient and the device, a fitting may take one or several appointments. In any case, the practitioner will work with you to optimize the fit of your device.

Upon delivery, you will be responsible for your co-payment. You will be asked to sign a delivery ticket confirming that you receive the device(s) and complete a brief email survey that gives you the opportunity for provide us with important feedback.

While most devices come with a manufacturers’ warranty, all items are covered under Alliance’s warranty policy.

Follow-Up

Please schedule an appointment if you are having problems with the device, such as redness or soreness. We will adjust your device to eliminate these problems. Alliance is committed to your ongoing satisfaction with our services so there is no additional charge for follow-up visits.
